1. Where were you raised and what was your family like growing up?
I was raised on a farm in Ohio. I have hundreds of siblings but each one has gone his/her own way in the world. We don’t keep in touch very often. When I was little, I came out West to visit some cousins and fell in love with Colorado. Everything is so green that it makes me feel at home.
2. What is your role at PTIS?
My role at PTIS is as the Fitness Consultant. My main goal is to make being fit more fun. I want to help ensure that your fitness level helps you stay active for your work, sport and life. I’ll be providing monthly tips, advice and exercises. If I can find the time, I want to start a plog (a blog written by pickles) as well.
3. How did you become interested in fitness?
All my life I have had body image issues. I didn’t have the figure that the other pickles did in Pickles Weekly. Then one day I realized that it is not what your body looks like that is important but how fit and strong your body is. Being fit and strong makes me feel better and be more confident. I want to help others feel the same way.
4. What is you favorite activity?
I am an avid reader. My favorite author is Shakespeare. Incidentally, the phrase “in a pickle” was first introduced by Shakespeare in his play, The Tempest. The quotes read, “How cam’st thou in this pickle?” and “I have been in such a pickle”. I assume that’s why I like him so much.
