Your physical therapist at Physical Therapy & Injury Specialists (PTIS) will work with you and your physician to develop a post-surgical rehabilitation plan of care using therapeutic exercise and functional training in conjunction with manual techniques to address your individual needs. The plan of care will be developed after an evaluation performed by a physical therapist and will include short term and long term rehabilitation goals against which progress will be measured. As your therapy progresses, you will be reevaluated by your therapist who will be in communication with your physician to ensure your goals are met. We always strive for the best possible outcome for each individual patient.
At PTIS, our Metro Denver physical therapists work closely with orthopedic physicians preparing patients for orthopedic surgery and facilitating their post-op recovery. Most patients will require physical therapy following their operation, and in some cases, as soon as 24 hours postsurgery. The goal is to restore strength, flexibility, and range of motion so that patients regain their optimum level of function and get back to staying active for work, sport, and life. Common conditions we manage include:
- Joint replacements
- Ankle, wrist & hand injuries
- Sports injuries
- Back & neck pain
- Post-op back surgery
A broad range of treatments that deliver results.
Clinical studies have shown that active manual physical therapy is highly effective for reducing pain and restoring function quickly after an injury. We use a range of proven, time-tested techniques along with the most advanced manual physical therapy, including soft-tissue mobilization, myofascial release and more. By promoting improved circulation through early movement, therapy results in faster healing of the injured surgical site and help prevent scar tissue formation.
